Literature Text

I went to sleep one night
And fell into darkness
Confused I searched
For some reason
Some purpose
For my presence in this place

I beheld a Naked Soul
With long black hair
And ashen gray wings
Covered in markings
That should give off the light of God

A Fallen Angel
A Wounded, Barren Soul
Her features faded
Not a testament to darkness
But a testament to light lost

And I ENVIED her
Despite the pain on her face
Despite her shattered demeanor
She was still glorious
A testament to Divinity

One day
I know
She will find her Voice again
And raise her Song
In chorus with Heaven

But me
I am mortal
Dust
Broken in Spirit
Forever Suffering

So why?
Why am I here?
In this darkness
With this Naked Soul
This Fallen Angel

I look at her eyes
And she looks back at me
This lost little girl
This reflection in a mirror
Me

And I cry.
A poem I wrote at work today on break. It's inspired partially by my ever present angst, but also owes a bit of it's symbolism to :iconmidnight-tea: A lot of the ideas in their Teaverse mirror things that I considered at one point or another putting in Alter Id. Particularly the ideas of Angels helped solidify how I view them in my own particular mythos.
